‘We Need Collective Prayers To Confront Banditry ,Kidnapling ,Insurgency –Emir Of Kano
THE Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero ,has said, to confront the challenges of banditry ,kidnapling, insurgency and other social ills bedevilling the country, there was need for collective prayers from all the teeming masses of the couhtry
He stated that without peaceful co-existence ,there will be no positive improvement ,hence the need for all citizens to always give peace a chance to reign.
Emir of Kano made the assertion on Thursday during the visit of Minister of State for transport Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki paid a courtesy call at the palace ,who was in Kano to official commissioning of the Kano Outreach Learning centre ,Dawakin -kudu.
According to Emir Ado Bayeto, the establishment of the centre in Kano, will go along way in proving job opportunities for youths ,who may have been roaming about the streets in searching for white collar Jobs
However ,while commissioning the centre at Dawakin-Kudu town, Senator Gbemisola Saraki called on Kano,,Jigawa abd other states to utilised the golden opportunity, by pave way for their youths ,to have one skills and as well acquired a certificate which will assist them to advance in their education .
According to her , with the establishment of the centre in Kano ,the teeming unemployed youths in the entire North West zone,will immediately benefit from the skills acquisition programne offered at the centre .
She also disclosed that the centre through various knowledge they will acquired, will help in alleviate them from poverty ,which has been a source that made youth to be vulnerable to social ills bedevilling the country .
In his remark ,the state governor ?Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who was represented at the occasion by his Deputy ,Dr.Nasiru Gawuna ,commended the ministry of transport for bringing the centre to Kano
Governor Ganduje ,then promised the centre that the State government will send many youths to the centre to acquired one skills or another .
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Trabsport Technology (NITT )Zaria, Dr.Bayero Salih Farah, noted that if the youths properly harnessed the opportunities abound at the centre ,they could be employers of Labour rather than chasing after seemingly elusive white collar job.
He added that this will help take them off the streets ,thus reducing crime and criminality in our society .
