Sixth batch of Nigerian evacuees arrive from war-torn Ukraine
The sixth batch of 300 Nigerians fleeing from war-torn Ukraine arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Saturday evening.
Airport authorities and officials were at the airport to receive the evacuees
The returnees, mostly students stranded in Sumy for weeks before the Nigerian government eventually got the opportunity to evacuate, touched down aboard Azman Air
The flight according to reports left Hungary around 3pm
Recall that the minister of foreign affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, in an earlier tweet announced the evacuation and applauded the efforts of the Nigerian Mission in Hungary, Poland and Romania.
