By Ngozi Onyeakusi—The Guild of Marine Surveyors has announced plans to hold the second annual memorial lecture for Monday Ogadina on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

A statement by the President, Guild of Marine Surveyors, Wale Adetoro, said the second annual memorial lecture has the theme, “Championing professonalism & Competence in Effective Service Delivery” and the venue is NERDC Conference Centre & Guest House, Plot 3 & 4 Block B, Central Business District, NERDC Road, [Before Femi Shrine], Alausa Agidingbi, lkeja.

He noted that Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian insurers Association, would be the Guest speaker and the time is 11.00 to 1.00pm, adding that all Executives of lnsurance Companies and stakehoders in the Maritme sector are invited to the memorial lecture.

Ogadina was a co-founder of the Guild and was the first elected President and he was the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Seaguard lnternational Services until he passed, on June 17, 2021 at the age of 57.

The maiden memorial lecture in his honour was held on June 17 2022 at Emma Unachukwu Hall, Yaba College of Technology with the theme, “Development in the Maritime, lnsurance & Surveyng industries.

Guest lecturer then was Raphael Falokun, a former Director at the Industrial and General General Insurance Limited.
