By Ngozi Onyeakusi—The lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, is dead.

It was gathered that the Federal lawmaker who flew to the United Kingdom (UK) since he seriously took ill a few weeks ago died on Saturday morning, July 27 in a London hospital.

According to the report, his condition reportedly became critical in the past 48 hours.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of his death has not yet been made public.

It would be recalled that Senator Ubah was elected Senator in 2019 on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), and reelected on that platform in 2023.

He defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier this year and has indicated interest in seeking the governorship of Anambra State in next year’s election.

Ubah contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election and came fourth in a contest won by Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
