REX INSURANCE FLAGS OFF RETAIL STREET STORM IN YABA, LAGOS
NGOZI ONYEAKUSI

Rex Insurance, a leading player in Nigeria’s insurance sector, took to the streets of Yaba
and the environs in Lagos recently, with its flagship Retail Street Storm, a bold
grassroots initiative aimed at demystifying insurance and promoting policy adoption
among everyday Nigerians.

The Retail Street Storm is a strategic initiative designed to raise awareness about
insurance, promote policy adoption and strengthen the presence of Rex Insurance within the community. During the activation, representatives from the Retail Business
Department, in collaboration with the Brands Team, engaged directly with residents,
market vendors, and commuters to deliver practical education on the value of insurance and Rex flexible and affordable products.

According to the Managing Director/CEO of Rex Insurance, Mrs. Ebelechukwu B.
Nwachukwu, the Retail Street Storm is an initiative aimed at simplifying insurance with
the objective of making it more accessible to everyday Nigerians.
“Insurance is not just for big businesses or the elite, it is for everyone”, said Ebelechukwu
B. Nwachukwu. “The Retail Street Storm is part of our mission to take insurance to the streets. We are meeting people where they are; in the markets, on the roads, and in their
communities to show them that insurance is simple, affordable, and essential. Our retail
business is a core part of what we do, and through this initiative, we are showing our
commitment to reaching everyday Nigerians and making insurance accessible to all”.
The campaign kicked off in Yaba, with activities extending to surrounding areas including
Sabo and Jibowu. The team engaged directly with people in busy streets, markets, and
bus stops across the area. People in the area responded positively to the outreach,
recognizing the company’s efforts to simplify insurance and make it more accessible an
relevant to everyday life.
The Retail Street Storm will continue in other major cities, with Ibadan, Port Harcourt, and Abuja scheduled in the coming weeks. Each city will host activations tailored to its
distinct target audience, ensuring that our insurance solutions and messaging effectively address the specific needs of each community.
Rex Insurance invites all residents in the cities to join the movement and experience
firsthand how insurance can empower and protect their future.
