By Ngozi Onyeakusi—A Concerned stakeholder in Rebuilding Nigeria, Saanu Michael Oluwakayode has called on President, Bola Amed Tinubu to inaugurate Community Monitoring and Evaluation Team, which will  ccomprise CDA (Community Development Association) heads, Traditional chiefs,  Community media representatives and Other community stakeholders.

The team, according to him will  ensure that projects are effectively implemented, monitored, and evaluated by the beneficiaries to ensure rapid growth in our local government areas.

“Dear Mr. President, Senate, and House of Representatives,

I am writing to propose an innovative solution to foster rapid growth in our local government areas. I recommend inaugurating a Community Monitoring and Evaluation Team, comprising of:

1. CDA (Community Development Association) heads
2. Traditional chiefs
3. Community media representatives
4. Other community stakeholder

This team will ensure that programs and projects are effectively implemented, monitored, and evaluated by the people who matter most – the beneficiaries. This approach has been successfully adopted by the World Bank in their recent Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) in Nigeria, which yielded remarkable results across various communities.

Without a robust monitoring and evaluation mechanism in place, lack of transparency and stagnant growth will continue to plague our local communities. By empowering the community stakeholders to take ownership of projects and programs, we can ensure accountability, transparency, and rapid growth.

I urge you to consider this proposal and work towards implementing a Community Monitoring and Evaluation Team in our local government areas”, he persuaded.
