Stakeholders of the country’s integrated marketing communications sector and seasoned analysts will converge at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, for the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) annual brands and marketing conference on Friday, December 6, 2024.

Slated for 10 am, with the theme, “Rebuilding Consumer Confidence: Addressing Policy Impact and Market Realities”, the conference promises to stimulate conversation around challenges consumers face at the moment arising from government policies while proffering solutions.

Chairman of Odu’a Group of Companies, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s conference, which is the 12th edition in the series. Ashiru, a sound policy maker, will be speaking on the theme.

Some of the issues from the keynote presentation by Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, will be further dissected by brand experts and analysts lined up as panelists. These include Akonte Ekine, CEO of Absolute PR; Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications/Public Affairs Manager, Nestle Nigeria and Adetola Odusote, Partner, CMC Connect LLP.

Others are Amanda Madubuko, Media Personality and Damola Salvador, CEO of Digisplash.

Organised annually by the body of journalists in the marketing communications industry, the conference is a flagship event focusing on key issues in the Nigerian integrated marketing communications industry and beyond.

BJAN Chairman, Clara Okoro, noted that this year’s conference will focus on the imperatives of how government policies such as interest rate adjustments, tax policies and subsidy removal influences disposable income and consumer spending as well as how brands can pivot their strategies to maintain relevance and profitability in an environment of economic pressure and policy-induced constraints.
