The West African Examinations Council has announced the official release of the results for the May/Jun 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASCE) for school candidates.

Announcing the release of the result, the Head of National Office, Dr. Amos Dangut, said the exam was taken by 1.9 million secondary school students in over 23,000 schools nationwide.

In a post on its X handle, Dangut said candidates who sat for the exam could access their results online.

“The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2025 that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 4, 2025. I am happy to announce to you that all the processes leading to the release of the results have been concluded,” he declared.

Dangut further said despite some hitches experienced during the conduct of the May/June 2025 WASSCE, the school exam was successful.

The WAEC chief also said there was a 33.8 per cent decrease in candidates’ performance.
