Nahco Aviance Half-year Turnover Soars To N4.64bn
The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (nahco aviance) has announced its half-year 2018 financial report showing that it posted a turnover of N4.64 billion compared to N3.71 billion recorded in the first half of 2017.
The result shows a 25 per cent increase over the same period in 2017.
Profit before tax stood at N500.97 million compared to N203.08 million (147 per cent increase) reported in 2017 half-year report.
Similarly, profit after tax increased by 137 per cent with N418.57 million reported the first half of 2018 compared to N176.32 million recorded during the same period a year ago.
Speaking at a shareholders’ meeting in Lagos where the report was presented, the managing director and chief executive officer of the firm, Mr. Idris Yakubu said the financial report “is a result of growing faith in the new management that has superintended over the affairs of the company during the period.
“We are pleased with the patronage of our valued clients, the airlines and the agents, as well as the contributions of our hardworking and dedicated staff to this very positive result,” said Yakubu.
He urged the shareholders to look forward to sustained profit performance at year end, on the back of the strong showing of the first half of the year.
On staff welfare, Yakubu declared: “Management is committed to staff welfare and will continue the negotiation of the staff condition of service, and conclude before the current booklet expires at the end of September 2018,” he said.
He added that due to the company’s commitment to staff welfare Jobberman, in its 2018 rating, adjudged nahco aviance as one of the Top 100 Best Places to work in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the company’s spokesman, Mr. Tayo Ayakaye said the ground handling firm had signed a series of new contracts with both local and international airlines.
“The signing with local airlines includes Max Air which has since started smooth operations from Lagos and Kano, and handling of Hajj operations for Med-View, one of the largest operators in the country.
“Aside handling of international and hajj operations for Flynas, nahco also handles domestic and of recent, regional operations for the nation’s largest operator, Air Peace and Aero World, delivering service to the delight of the airlines,” said Ajakaye.
