There was pandemonium along Inuwa Wada road i in the Malali GRA Kaduna. North Local Government are of the state, When yet to be identify gunmen abducted and whisked away the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse.
The police Public Relation Officer, kaduna State Command ASP Aliyu Usman who confirmed the abduction of the former minister said investigation has commenced to track down those behind the incident.
According to a resident of Yahaya road who said he witnessed the incident, the former minster was abducted in front the residence ofl Alhaji Mamman Daura,
“We were setting outside the Mosque along Inuwa Wada road when the car stopped and the passengers inside came down, he moved towards Alhaji Mamman Daura’s house but stopped to exchange greetings with some people when suddenly a car, ash in colour approached the area and the gunmen jumped out of the car and rushed towards the former minster and his friends.
The witness who could not remember the make of the car said the gunmen who were masked shot in the air and this made people to take cover, .and when the crowd dispersed they zoomed off with the minister .
“We did not know who they were taking away. It was later we heard that he was Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs. What we could hear was Move in! Move in!!! and they were shouting at the top of their voices.”
However, the minster was said to be in the company of his friend, who had gone to pay condolence visit to the family of the late Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Dasuki on kabiru road,which is a stone throw from the spot and decided to make a quick stopover at the house of Daura who was at home and was receiving guests and other family members.
As at the time of filling in this report, the police have mounted check points on major roads that lead to the area.
