Ilori noted that mentorship is a valuable tool that can guide the youth towards achieving their goals and shaping their future in a positive way, stressing that having a mentor can offer them insights, advice, and support throughout their journey.

The transition to the Gen-Z era can be overwhelming and confusing, as we face different challenges from those of previous generations. However, with the guidance of a mentor, we can navigate through these challenges with more ease and confidence.
To find a mentor, start by identifying your goals and values.

“Look for someone who is knowledgeable and experienced in your area of interest or expertise. It could be someone within your community, or you could reach out to professionals in your field through networking platforms.

As for many of you who might be interested in the mentorship scheme, do well to declare interest with the secretariat and you will be paired with a mentor,” she posited.

She urged the participants to note that mentorship is a two-way relationship, imploring them to always approach mentorship with an open mind and eagerness to learn and also, be respectful of their mentor’s time and effort in helping them succeed.

She submitted that mentorship is a vital aspect of personal and career development, especially as they transition into the Gen-Z era, urging them to embrace it and allow it to guide them towards a bright and fulfilling future.
