Following the appointment of the former Chairman, Premium Pension Limited, Aliyu Dikko as the Director-General, National Pension Commission by the Federal Government, the board of the firm has appointed Yunusa Yakubu to replace him.

According to the firm’s Head, Corporate Communications, Paddy Ezeala, Yakubu’s appointment was ratified at the recent Annual General Meeting of the company.

Before his appointment, he was the chairman of the board’s committee on strategic growth. He takes over from Mr. Aliyu Dikko, who was recently appointed the Director General, PenCom by FG.

Yakubu is a successful businessman and versatile consulting architect, he obtained B.Sc. in Architecture in 1984 from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and followed up with M.Sc. in the same course at the same university in 1986.

He started his working career with the Ministry of Works and Housing in Bauchi State in 1987. While there, he worked on the designs and supervision of buildings, including the local government secretariats, political party offices and the state’s liaison office in Abuja.

In 1993, he moved to the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory as project coordinator in the maintenance department. Yakubu served on the board of SunTrust Savings and Loans Limited as a director and he was appointed by the Federal Government as a member of the governing council of the Abubakar Tafawa University, Bauchi. He is currently a director of Micheletti Construction Limited and Niglemech Nigeria Limited.

Yakubu attended several prestigious international training programmes including the managing strategic innovation in business programme at Harvard University, United States, and the Real Estate Investment Model in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Presently, he is the Managing Director of Lubell Nigeria Limited and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.
