DataPro Limited, a compliance and credit-rating agency, will hold a two-day virtual training on October 27 and 28, 2026, to equip financial institutions and businesses with practical skills to identify and prevent proliferation-financing risks.

The programme will focus on Countering Proliferation Financing (CPF) and compliance with Targeted Financial Sanctions. It will target banks, fintech companies and Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) seeking to detect suspicious transactions and meet regulatory requirements.

The training comes amid growing global emphasis on compliance with international standards for combating illicit financial flows. According to DataPro, it will address compliance gaps identified in recent mutual evaluation reports by the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA).

The agency said the programme would provide compliance professionals with practical tools for conducting risk assessments, implementing customer due diligence and meeting statutory reporting obligations.

Participants will also learn how to strengthen internal compliance policies, improve transaction monitoring and identify red flags linked to proliferation financing.

DataPro said the curriculum comprises five core modules covering the fundamentals of CPF, reviews of internal policies and procedures, institutional risk assessments, advanced customer due diligence, transaction monitoring and regulatory reporting.

The programme is expected to help participating organisations align their compliance operations with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards and improve their preparedness for regulatory reviews and audits.

The training will be held virtually via Zoom from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.

DataPro said the participation fee is ₦100,000 per person, excluding Value Added Tax (VAT), with discounted rates available for group registrations.

The agency urged interested organisations to nominate compliance officers and other relevant personnel, noting that registration is subject to available spaces.
