The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ( ACCA) has reaffirmed commitment towards producing financial experts who can stand the taste of time.
The acting Country Head of ACCA Olatunji Adeleye who gave the assurance in Lagos said having only just university first degree was not enough even he harped on the need to move ahead.

Knowing the need of accountants in every organization as well as need to abridge dearth of finance professionals in Africa and beyond, Adeleye assured that ACCA had been supporting students/ stakeholders in getting the right needed financial/accounting skills, assisting in tuition payment and offering opportunities to those who might have interest to grow in the profession but lacked the basic steps to start.

Speaking in an ACCA event tagged ‘Connecting Futures, Adeleye who is also Head of Customer Service for Africa explained that “ACCA Connecting Future is all about connecting ACCA customers, whether he is a prospect, whether he is a student or an affiliate. It is also about rewarding excellence, that is rewarding and publish them in the newspapers the people who have passed our exams . So one thing we want to achieve is to reward them publicly and also let them share with other students who may be struggling with joining ACCA. The event is to let people know that ACCA can provide support, that we also provide tuition for our students. We also through this event we intend to give prospect to those interested in ACCA but found it difficult to start. We intend to give them opportunities to start their careers in ACCA.

Advising participants on the need to move ahead, Adeleye stated, ” We intend to let every single stakeholders understand that just getting a university first degree is not enough and we are in the era where we are building people for the future, one of the things ACCA is known for is providing finance professionals who are prepared for the future,one of the things we says is you think ahead, what we are doing is providing professionals whom organizations will need.

On the opportunities available for accountants, he assured that it was immeasurable “Well their future is enormous, one of the things we want to say here is that we want to change the land scape that if you do ACCA qualification or if you studied accounting in the school that all you will accomplish with is becoming a chartered accountant, we have different avenue to express what we have learnt, we have some our members who are chief finance officers in various industries, we even have our members who have moved into the academic industry. And if you look critically you found out that there is no organization that doesn’t need an accountant, you see, the future of accountants is enormous.
