By Ngozi Onyeakusi — The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) on Thursday disclosed that its new professional examination syllabus will become operational by October, 2021.
This, among others is the fallout of the monthly meeting of Officers Representatives Committee ( ORC) of the institute held in Lagos.
Addressing members at the meeting, the ORC Chairman, Karieren Pius said the governing council of the institute considered the review of the syllabus to ensure that the institute remained consistent in producing professionals that could stand the taste of time.
He called on those who are yet to complete their qualification courses to work hard to do so before the new syllabus will be unveiled.
ORC at the meeting recognized its past chairperson, Lady Isioma Chukwuma with an award for her excellent performance during her tenure between 1998 to 2000.
Giving the award to Chukwuma, who is also a past president of the governing board of the institute, Karieren said she deserved the award because of her numerous contributions to ORC and the institute.
He described Chukwuma as a rare gem known for dedication to duties.
Receiving the award, Chukwuma commended ORC for the honor bestowed on her even as she called on members to be hardworking.
ORC is a committee of the institute. It comprises of representatives from the arms of the industry, underwriters, brokers, loss adjusters, re-insurers. Their job is to communicate back to their various companies programmes of the institute.
