By Ngozi Onyeakusi– The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday announced 20 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the country bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 343.

In a tweet, the agency wrote: “Twenty new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 13 in Lagos; 2 in Edo; 2 in Kano; 2 in Ogun, 1 in Ondo.

As at 09:50 pm 13th April there are 343 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 91 have been discharged with 10 deaths

Meanwhile, the governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu said today that six more COVID-19 patients had been discharged bringing to 61 the total number of persons successfully treated in its isolation centres.

The governor who is also the incident commander on COVID-19 further said the newly discharged patients included five males and one female.

“This good news brings the number of patients who have been managed and discharged from our facilities to 61.

“For us, this is indicative of our will power to triumph in the war against COVID-19. We won’t be deterred until victory is achieved,” he added
