PenCom DG, Aisha Dahir- Umar

By Ngozi Onyeakusi—-The National Pension Commission (PenCom)
says it has concluded plans for the commencement of the pilot phase of its newly developed Automated Enrolment Application.
This exercise according to the Commission will be carried out with selected MDAs in the six Geo-Political Zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja come August 2nd to 20th 2021.
At the conclusion of the exercise, the application will go live on a date to be announced by the Commission.
Giving insight on the application while addressing the media at a workshop in Lagos, the Director-General of the Commission Aisha Dahir-Umar said affected retirees/prospective retirees are required to undergo the data recapturing exercise with their respective Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) as this is a pre-requisite for the online Enrolment. This, according to her required updating their personal details and providing their National Identification Number (NIN).

The DG who represented by the Head Corporate Communications, Peter Aghahowa however, noted that retirees/prospective retirees who have already undergone the data recapture excercise with their PFAs are not required to repeat the exercise.

PenCom recently developed an online application which will automate the Annual Pre-Retirement Verification and Enrolment Exercise. The Application has the capabilities to register, verify and enrol prospective retirees of Treasury-funded Federal Government MDAs.  Accordingly, the online Enrolment Application would be hosted on PenCom website www.pencom.gov.ng
