By Ngozi Onyeakusi—The newly appointed Commissioner for Insurance/CEO Mr Olusegun Ayo Omosehin arrived at the NAICOM’s Headquarters, Abuja for his assumption of duty on Friday 3 May, 2024. He was welcomed by Senior Members of Staff.

Following his arrival, the CFI had an interactive session with the entire Management and Staff of the Commission, during his opening remark he stated the Executive Management would set a new tone for the Nigerian Insurance Sector. His predecessor Mr. Olorundare Sunday Thomas who was in attendance to officially handover to the new CFI thanked the staff for their support while in office.

In a positive light, the new CFI is optimistic of achieving a more vibrant Insurance Sector. Furthermore, the CFI noted that the Federal Government intends to achieve a $1Trillion economy by 2026. With this target in cognizance, the Insurance Sector is expected to play a critical role and contribute to its achievement.
