The President, Aliko Dangote Group Companies, Aliko Dangote, has extended a sum of N130m to about 13,000 vulnerable women in the 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State.

This was disclosed by Dangote during the inauguration of Aliko Dangote Foundation of Micro Grants in Lafia.

According to him, the programme was aimed at improving the living conditions of vulnerable women in the state.

The micro-grant programme, he said was one of the components of the economy empowerment programme of the foundation designed to provide disadvantaged and vulnerable women with unconditional N10,000 cash transfer to improve their income.

He explained further that some few states with large population would get a little bit more, saying that apart from this, the company also had a programme for giving loans with zero interest and this would be given to people in the medium-scale industries.

“The programme is equally aimed at complementing the efforts of the state government in the economy empowerment and poverty reduction derive,” he added.

Earlier, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who called for more partnership with Dangote to improve the lots of the people in the state, lauded the benevolent gesture of the foundation.
