Today is Indeed a great day to celebrate one of the rarest specie of insurance practitioners in the world, Olola Olabode Ogunlana, FCIB as he marks 94 in good health and prosperity.

The History of the Nigerian Insurance Industry is not complete without a conspicuous chapter devoted to the nonagenarian who recorded first in several dimensions of life and the profession. Aside from being the first indigenous managing director of the first Nigerian Insurance Company; National Insurance Corporation (NICON), the iconic practitioner is one of the founding fathers of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), and a Past President of the Chattered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN). He was equally one of the spark plugs for the successful establishment of the Nigerian council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).

Olola was Honoured with the International Lifetime Achievement Award of the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA), the first to be so honoured by BIBA, for his more than 70 years of unbroken service in the Insurance Industry which attracted the respect and admiration of all.

A cauldron of ideas, Olola’s ingenuity, vision and tenacity of purpose led to the founding, sustenance and the flourishing of Scib Nigeria & Co Limited which today is the foremost Insurance Broking firm in Nigeria.

Despite his advancing age, Olola has remained intellectually undiminished as still authors books and engage in profound conversations on Leadership, Insurance Professionalism and Collaboration. He is Indeed and unimpeachable library of Human and Insurance History.

The President of our Council, Mrs Ekeoma Ezeibe, FCIB, proudly joins other professionals and numerous well wishers to celebrate this great Icon and proud product of our profession on his birthday and wish him more years of God’s Divine Favour.
